I don't know of anything you can do to develop them other than making sure they are getting plenty of playing time.This community is for all who want to share and talk about their experiences with MLB: The Show. If I draft a guy that's a 55 at age 22 and he's only a 60 at age 25, there's not a whole lot of chance that he will ever just kick it into high gear and start developing super quickly. Second, see how quickly they are progressing. Playing every day in AAA is going to be better than a backup in the MLB. It's not a development trait, it's saying that they could become a great player.Īs far as how you should go about developing a player, it's really a crap shoot. That's what is going on when you have those players with a crazy potential with a low overall. But would Cam Newton be any better than your average AA player at baseball right now? Doubtful, so he would have a low overall. Could Cam Newton become an excellent baseball player if he put in the time to learn his skill? Probably, so he would be a high potential player. Take a freak athlete, let's say Cam Newton. I know that because potential often leads to overall, people often think of them together but that shouldn't be how you look at it. You have to start thinking of overall and potential as two totally separate things. This is a decency concern, some people do not deserve to be put on blast because you had a great game.
